How do you clean your shower curtains? I usually have one of those Scotch sponges in each bathroom and I scrub the plastic liner after each shower. This will keep the soap scum from drying out and getting hard. You can also wash the plastic and cloth curtains in the washing machine. Put it in Gentle Wash and use warm water with an all-purpose detergent. With plastic shower curtains, add some soft items like socks to absorb some of the force during the spin cycle. This will prevent it from ripping. Air dry the plastic curtains. For the cloth shower curtains, follow the care labels.

    Hi Mama,

I usually throw out when the shower curtain becomes dirty. Thanks for the tip cause I don't cleanse it everyday. That's why the dirt build up and it gets harder when the time comes to clean it.

    Have a great day!!!

I also throw it away when it's dirty and replace new one, it's only $9.99 to replace the shower curtain. It's less work. I use to wash before, but not anymore.

You'll get more use from it when you just wipe it off after each shower. It'll save you money that you can use to buy clothes. :o)

I used to throw it away too. But now I don't want to contribute to the growing landfill! It only takes a minute to scrub it after every shower. If you do it every day, the shower curtain will not get dirty. Also, the shower curtain I use costs more than $9.99 since it's not made of plastic but a kind of canvas that does not get moldy. Since it's expensive, I try to get more use out of it. :o)

I bought a cloth shower liner this time around. It repels water and it will be easy to launder. I was a bit leery the cloth would soak through, but it really works!

It costs a bit more (like the canvas one you mentioned above) but it'll last much longer and it feels good to "go green" so it's worth the extra price. It'll be cheaper in the long run.
