According to a 2007 study by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, adding fruit to alcoholic drinks may help to increase the already beneficial antioxidant potency of the fruits. The effect you get depends on the fruit you use and how much you include in your drink. Berries tend to have the most anti-oxidants. A fresh raspberry margarita offers more nutrients than one made with a juice concentrate or mix (these also contain more refined sugars which means more calories and less fiber). So go ahead, add some strawberries on your champagne or add some apples to your Sangria. Oh, and one more thing, always drink in moderation. :o)

Interesting research, I'm not much of a drinker, but I do love fruity drinks. And apples in sangria sounds like a good idea! Cheers!
