I wish I can say that stilletos are great for your feet but we all know that it isn't. It will make your legs look great and slimmer though but that''s it. What it will give you, if you wear it regularly, are ugly feet and a lot of foot problems. That's why they are called 'party shoes', you don't wear it every day, only on special occasions. Now, I'm talking about high-heels that are more than 3inches high. If you're looking for comfortable shoes, then you should try Keen, Merrell or Dansko shoes. I have both Merrell and Dansko and I can attest that they are indeed comfortable. In fact, I wore my Merrell sandals across Europe for a month and never did I get a blister on my feet. If you're looking for fashionable shoes, then these aren't it but if you want comfort and are just going to the store or watch a soccer game then try these shoes.

I use to not think that stay-at-home moms like me need life insurance and boy was I wrong. I saw a tv show where the guest explained why I need life insurance. If, God forbid, something happens to me, dh would need the money from the life insurance to pay for sitters for the kids and other daily essentials that they need. It does make a lot of sense come to think about it. It's easy to get life insurance quotes in the internet, you don't have to speak to a pushy salesperson on the phone. If you're a stay-at-home mom, do you have life insurance?

It's been eight years since we built this house and we still have the original carpeting. We've thought of having it re-carpeted but we had other expenses. So we opted for the next best thing, steam cleaning the carpets. We didn't have to buy one, instead we borrowed a steam cleaner from my in-laws. It did a great job cleaning the carpets, it looks like new almost. The dirtiest was of course on the stairs. Mind you, we don't wear shoes upstairs but it still got dirty. There are a lot of steam cleaners you can buy and use for your home, like the Ladybug vapor steam cleaner. If you don't want to purchase onem, then you can rent one from the grocery, I see those almost anywhere.
Along with steam cleaning, you should always vacuum your carpet regularly, of course. If it gets stained, always use a stain remover and not let the stain sit and dry out, then it'll be much harder to get rid of.

A couple more months and President Obama will celebrate his first year in office. Well and good but among his promises is the Universal Health Care. It seems that it's not going anywhere. It's been in the news in what seems like forever. I do hope that whatever bill is passed will be advantageous to those who needed it the most. Going without insurance is a scary thing and very expensive when you have to get medical help. There are a lot of health insurance companies that offer different programs like Blue Advantage but of course, some of these are too expensive if you're not employed. Let's cross our fingers and hope that congress and the senate will give us a bill that will actually help people and not make insurance companies richer.

It's the time of the year when I start using the automated car wash. During the spring and summer months, I can get away with washing the car myself since it's pretty warm out. After the month of September though, it gets cooler in my state. So you will definitely find me in one of those automatic car washes once in a while.
If you wash your car yourself, you do know that you're not supposed to use dishwashing liquid, right? I used to do this until I saw a piece on TV that it does harm to the car paint. I'm no expert so I have to take their word for it. I searched the internet and found pros and cons so I'm at a lost. Probably if I have an expensive car like a Ferrari, then I would be more careful in taking care of it. So if it needs work, then I'll only use original Ferrari parts. So where are you in this debate, do you think it's safe to wash your car with dishwashing detergent or not?

If you're one of those people who likes their teeth pearly white, then read up.

- First, the obvious, brushing your teeth or chewing sugarless gum after meals (and while resetting your computer's video card ) and snacking on crunchy fruits and vegetables will definitely help because it increases saliva production to clean your teeth.

- Carry a touch-up whitening product with peroxide and brush in onto teeth after drinking coffee, wine or eating berries. If it stains your countertops, it will stain your teeth.

- Brush your teeth once a week with this at-home treatment: Add just enough hydrogen peroxide to a little baking soda to form a paste to polish away discoloration. You can also use a store-bought deep-cleaning toothpaste with silicas instead.

Adult Acne

And I thought pimples are only for teenagers! I was wrong...After I gave birth to my son, my hormones went out of whack. Now that I'm in my 40's, I still get breakouts here and there. I'm constantly in the search for an acne treatment that works the best for someone my age. I find that the Mario Badescu's spot pimple treatment works best. That is, if you don't mind sleeping with a dot/dots on your face.

Where is it? Is it even available? With all these talk of Universal Health Care by the President and almost anyone who's who in the government, it seems improbable. Frankly speaking, I don't think it is going to happen anytime soon. I don't know why they cannot seem to get it going when other countries like Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany among others, have some form of universal health care for everyone. I am in the search for a cheap health insurance because the insurance bills are getting outrageous!

I don't know about you but I dread this time of the year. I don't look forward to opening the Benefits Information Packet. Within these past couple of years, the benefits are shrinking and we end up paying more for health and dental insurance. Did you notice the same thing with your benefits too? Our insurance co-pay used to be only $5 but it has gone up to $20 this year. I guess I shouldn't complain since I know there are a lot of people out there that has no insurance at all. So right now, I am trying to digest and understand all these insurance mumbo-jumbo. I also have to compare different insurance quote from companies and find one that is well-suited for my family's insurance needs.
