Think of fish and immediately, I think of lemons. Everytime I roast, bake, fry or grill fish, I automatically serve it with cut lemons. There are times though when I do not have any lemons on hand so I use the next best available substitute which is an orange. It's the lemon's cousin so why not? I use anything that's in the citrus family, just to take away the 'fishiness' taste. I love eating fish, it is healthy and has less calories and no saturated fat like read meat. Eating fish is beneficial for you, you probably will not need to look for the best fat burning supplement online.
I remember during the early years of the internet (we're talking about the mid and late 90's here), there was no Google back then. So how do we search for something in the internet? I remember there was what was called the 'web crawler' and also 'Alta Vista'. Then came Google. I like using Google because of its' simple page. A plain white main page, and then one search window and a couple of texts underneath. There are no other frou-frous, photos, whatever that can distract you. I want to search for a topic, not look at irrelevant ADs and what not. Until now, I am still using Google even though Microsoft has a new search engine called Bing. Whenever I want to look for subjects like wrinkle cream reviews, it's a safe bet that I will type in Google.com in the web address window.
I remember it clearly, it was a yellow pure wool cardigan a boyfriend bought for me in Hong Kong. I treasured it not because it was from 'him' (I initiated the break-up) but because I love the color and the material plus I know it costs a fortune! So imagine my shock when my sister showed me the sweater, it shrunk! My mom put it in the dryer not knowing it's not supposed to be in the dryer plus it was 'Dry Clean Only'!. It was funny now, it's gotten so tiny that my sister who was in grade school back then can wear it. Maybe I should've looked for some fast weight loss tips so I can still fit into that sweater but I just gave it to my sister.
Anyway, back to unshrinking clothes, is it possible? Well, it depends really on the fabric. You can try this tip that I saw in a magazine if you're really hell-bent on unshrinking it.
- Add 1 tablespoon of baby shampoo or hair conditioner to 1 quart of water, then immerse a machine- or hand-washable garment in the solution to relax the fibers.
*Knitted items made of cotton, cashmere, or wool have looser weaves and are much easier to manipulate than those made from silk, or a synthetic fiber such as rayon or polyester.
-While the shrunken garment is soaking, trace an outline of a similarly sized piece of clothing onto a piece of parchment paper.
- Lightly squeeze the excess water from the garment, then lay it on the paper.
- Gently stretch the item so that it fits the traced outline. If there is a little stiffness, use a steamer or a steam from an iron to make the garment more malleable.
- Secure the edges with heavy objects until dry (glass paperweights or coffee mugs will do the trick).

Ever since we bought the Nintendo Wii three years ago, we've been using the Wii Sports as a daily exercise tool. Then came in the Wii Balance Board last year, so we bought that too and used it. The problem is, it becomes boring after a while. It is too repetitive for me and it doesn't not feel like a 'real workout'. Now, let's talk about EA Sports Active. This is the real thing! Aside from having many, many types of exercise (cardio and strength training), you can take their 30-day challenge where you follow an exercise regimen for 30-days. This is also endorsed by Bob Greene, Oprah's exercise guru. Well, I didn't know that he endorsed this when I bought it; I was actually surprised when I saw his video at the start. I've been doing this religiously and I am hoping (with fingers crossed) that this is IT for me. If this works, then I will be very happy and proud that I did not use any of the best diet pills that's being sold out there.
My kids go to a Catholic school. This school relies only on tuition fees and some help from the Parish. For extra-curricular activities like field trips and other fun stuff, they rely on donations from the families. I'm glad that this year, with a new principal, a Parent-Teacher Organization was formed. Now, we are thinking of ways to raise money for classroom improvements, science laboratory and gym equipments. One of the suggestions was to sell promotional items and also have a bake sale. I am looking forward to volunteering my services to the PTO because I know that my kids will benefit from it.
Winter break is fast approaching and I am in a hurry to plan our vacation for the kids' Winter Break. It's just a month to go and the kids are getting excited. We've put up going to Disney World for so long, my son turned 5 last year and we think that it's the right age plus he is tall enough to go on most of the rides. My in-laws want us to spend a few days with them in the Florida Panhandle, they are renting one of the condos in destin fl. I like Destin. I remember the first time we went there, I was amazed by how white the sand is! It was actually blinding, moreso for dh who is blue-eyed! I already booked a room at the Disney Wilderness Lodge for 5 nights. Now, I need to call friends and schedule a night out with them and their families.
It seems a lot more people today are practicing offensive driving, is it just me or do you also noticed this yourself? Younger drivers (no offense meant) are more guilty of this. Just this morning, I witnessed a young woman weaving in and out of traffic in the freeway and she's even moving in to a lane where it's only a small space separating the other cars. If she doesn't change her ways, then she'd better look for a personal injury attorney, not a pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney.
How 'green' do you go when shopping? Are you the die-hard kind where everything you purchase must be organic, uses recyclable by-products, saves energy kind of thing? Or are you like me, I use reusable shopping bags and recycle whatever it is that can be recycled...pretty much that's it. It is very expensive to buy all 'organic' produce, besides, I read an article that says not all organic veggies are really organic. It's nice to be able to go green shopping but until it gets more affordable, I will continue to shop the old way.
We've been trying to find ways to cut back on our expenses, one thing that seems harder to do is to bring down the cost of our insurance. All insurance costs are through the roof! I wonder if this health care bill will actually benefit us or will it just benefit the poor or the rich? Choosing the right insurance company is very daunting, especially going through those mumbo-jumbo. Of course, you can just rely on watching insurance advertising on TV but that's not wise either. Choosing the cheapest one is not the way to go. Good thing Google is there, it's easier to find reviews of insurance companies from people.
Ok, listen up. For those who are young or who need only low-magnification non-prescription glasses to read, those cheap prescription that you can purchase in places like CVS, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. will be as effective as those costing as much as a hundred dollars.
But, if the distance between your eyes (the pupillary distance or PD) is very narrow or very wide, then do not buy those cheap glasses since their magnification is focused in the center of each lens. Your eyes won't get damaged but you will definitely get a headache.
As you get older, your PD becomes more important. It is also important to have proper lighting when reading or doing crafts that require detail like cross stitch so use a lamp or check on your light fixtures and clean those shades.

Yes, you read that right, Life Insurance for stay-at-home-moms. Why? because when, God forbid, something happens to you, then your family will have the resources to either hire a nanny or pay for some kind of child care. I think I heard or have seen a show about this a couple of years ago and it does make sense. It is very easy to get quotes for online life insurance, all you need is a computer, that's it.
